The M/T drag radials are VERY soft tires. You will be amazed when you push on the tread surface. They are FAR superios to the BFG's. Just be careful if you get caught on the streets in the rain. They lose it pretty quickly in turns.

Has anyone here had a problem with breaking axles on these cars when launching on DR's or slicks? The Caddy CTS-V's seem to snap axles like twigs with a mild clutch drop.

I ran dr the new design(flat tread in middle) and ran low 1.6 with them.I got a pair of 17"wheels with Mt et streets and will see what they will do..I tried a pair of Nitto and for traction they are junk.I will let you know what the Mt's do at the track after Christmas..Hoping to get in the 1.5s..

Thanks

I have a friend at Discount Tire and I got them for $159/tire. I'm going to be running the 275/40/17 on the stock C32 AMG wheel.

Definitely... I'm hitting the track 1/13 @ 6 p.m. If you decide to come, let me know and I can hook you up with a great price on a room and VIP treatment at a titty bar. LOL.

Helmet is required for all cars under 13.00 seconds. Roll cage required for any cars under 10.

Thank you

AFAIK, NHRA requires a helmet for 13.49 or quicker and a 5pt rollbar (not a cage) for 11.49 or quicker.

Again I probably stand corrected... you're killing me Wayne. I guess my answer is, I don't really know for sure. I only know what I hear from the guys in the staging lanes and obiviously they were misinformed as well...haha.

Thanks for the clarification on the exact numbers Wayne.

That being said, I sure hope the MT's are "THAT" good and put me under a 11.49... I don't need to be buying a rollbar.

NHRA requires helmet at 13.99 or under. Roll barcage (not sure) 11.49 or under. Wayne is correct.

I'll get those tires sizes in a minute.

They are 255/50/16. Not quite as wide as my BFG's but much better grip with 2 inches more of sidewall to absorb the torque without spinning.

I'd sell the brand new ones (still wrapped together with sticker on tread) for $200 for the pair.

It's a rollbar, 5 pt(main hoop, 2 rear bars and a driver's door bar), for cars with unmodified firewalls.

dragon, most tracks may give you a couple .10s, but if you run a .40 or quicker, they're going to bust you. One thing that can help is getting a single layer firejacket and wear that and your helmet when you race. They may cut you little more slack that way. My local redneck track did for me

And obviously, Derek ran 10s in his E without a rollbar, so some tracks just don't care

LOL, and no helmet. But when I visited the New England Dragstrip, they even got in my car to yank on the seatbelts.

Derek, I knew a guy that built a PVC rollbar for his car and painted it black. Worked for him for a while

That's a damn good price. I wish they were 275/40/17. I'm looking at spending close to $400 for a pair with shipping and everything.

You're so right... I received the MT radials today and boy are they soft. They feel like mash potatoes. They are so soft, you can press the rubber in with your pinky finger. I can't wait to hit the strip with these things. I think I will finally be able to "launch" the car.

You'll love 'em! They were made with one purpose in mind...launch,launch,launch!!!!

Remember, in order for these tires to work right, you MUST get them hot!!!!! Now that you have MT's you've got to do a significant burnout.

Good Luck, make sure you post your results!!!
