996 Turbo at the dragstrip
I have read some posts regarding E55vsM5vs996TT. Here's some video of my 996TT at the dragstrip last Sunday. Enjoy!

Beautiful car! If I didn't have to have a back seat and extra doors, I WOULD OWN ONE OF THOSE!!!. Nice runs for a turbo with 19's. Can you fit a set of 18's over the brake so that you could run some drag radials? That car should be in the 11.teens east with that kind of power. Nice car, I'm jealous!

Nice ride!
Isn't the 996TT AWD? The way to drop ET is to be more aggressive on the launch. Rev it up and drop the clutch or rev it up and slip the clutch like a maniac

18's won't fit. The 19's barely fit over the huge rotors. I think the 19's are probably costing me 3-6mph and 2-4 tenths.

I got my 1.85 60' by holding the RPMs at 3200 and gently slipping the clutch out. It's taken me about 40 or 50 passes to perfect this method. On the 1.85 run, the car still bogged down a little bit, I think that I left 2-4 tenths on the table.
I agree, I think it is harder to launch. If you put the car on the limiter and let the clutch fly, you're probably going to break something. Slipping the clutch puts a lot of heat and wear into it, so you're screwed either way
I think you should launch it at a higher RPM, since the car doesn't make enough power down low to come out at 3200. Next trip out, try coming out at 5000, instead of 3200.
Still a great car and nice times.
