Hey Erik, any way you can post pix of those exhaust [muffler] bypass valves?

Good seeing you again,
Steve

Erik,

I like the work that you guys did on this E55 with straight pipes. Being able to switch back and forth should alleviate any problems getting the car inspected (I am assuming). I have a question though. If I were to get the Kleemann K1 kit installed on my E55 along with the straight pipes, with an adjustable switch of course, would I be able to generate more horsepower and torque than the Kleemann K2 kit. I do not want to change the stock headers or cats, and think that the exhaust system you have illustrated here might solve my problem. How much horsepower and torque do you think I could geet with straight pipes. Is it necessary (in your opinion) to change the headers?

Steve,
Unfortunatley no, it's a whole different animal. The Multi Phase exhaust shown above will net a horespower increase - I think Isaac (E55 baller) saw almost 20 at the wheels, but it's nothing like the power increase of the headers/downpipes. The stage 1 will take you to just over 530HP, adding the Multi-Phase may get you to about 540-550ish at best. The Stage 2 (headers and downpipes) will bump you to over 580HP, before the Mulit-Phase. So you're looking at close to 600 possible HP with the K2 and RPM M.P.E (Mulit-Phase Exhaust).

Necessary is a relative word - in my opinion, if you really want to get that E55 screaming, where you will be more than happy - go with the K2. I think most on this board would agree. But again - it's completely up to you...

Don't worry - we will have another one, and it will be better!
