A buddy of mine used this on his 996tt. It dropped the intake temps 6-8 degrees on a car producing over 800hp. I think it made since on a rear engine car with a high amount of heat soak. However, on ours with a front mounted engine and lots of air flow thru the grill it would not make since, unless you spend a ton of time in traffic. The same would go for exhaust wrap. Just my 2 cents.

thats not a bad idea, you can always just use header wrap on the intake pipe as well.

Been there, done that..

I've wrapped just about everything that can be wrapped.

I used this stuff which I found to be easier to bend and mould to the intake tubes: http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...h.asp&x=15&y=7

Hey Victor how far along are you on your quest? What are the best HP & TQ numbers so far and best drag times.

Maybe one of these days when you get there you can fill us all in on what worked well and what was a waste of time.

I am waiting to dyno the car now with the pullies & ECU tune to see where we are at. I am hoping to be at 480rwhp - 490rwhp.

I've got a dyno tentatively scheduled for this Friday evening. If I make it, , I'll post some more info along with new dyno sheet.

True. Remember, you are wrapping intake tubes not an exhaust system. I would be very worried if my engine bay's ambient temp was at 400F. For wrapping intake tubes that is more than sufficient.

It's the exhaust that gets to high temps. In that case you need to buy another product for that purpose. I bought a 50 foot roll of black header wrap and wrapped from just behind the header as far back as I could. My headers were already ceramic coated, so no need to wrap those.
