Need a REALLY good body shop in LA

Pretty minor cosmetic damage from a "run in" with a shopping cart... I'm REALLY picky about body work. Looking for a place in West LA or SFV. Local dealer suggested Paulee Bodyshop or Beverly Coachcraft. Suggestions?

Because mashimaro1985 is well known around here and his friend pool is rather small.

Paul, for some entertainment on mash, go to the CLS55AMG forum and look at the thread titled Cls55 Rear Ended @ Pico And Manning Last Night

He doesn't have a very good track record here, so I wouldn't use it either.

Before you use any shop ask to see their work. Gold and/or bronze are particularly difficult colours. Anyone can do black. Shop should be clean - especially the paint areas. Ask if they bake the paint on and how they will repair the clear-coat.

If you're picky you probably already know all this but goo info anyway...

Good luck.

Best LA Bodyshop

Beverly Coachcraft in WLA. They are the best Mercedes shop around, period. Go there and see their work for yourself. They fixed my 2004 E55 when it was rear ended ($18K damage) as well as my Sl55 when it was keyed. The E55 was a lemon and Mercedes thoroughly looked over the car before they gave me my money back, and you know they would have used any excuse they could have found to renegotiate the terms. They could not tell it had been repaired.

I say go to Beverly Glen Autobody at the corner of Beverly Glen and Ventura Blvd. Emil is great and he has done all of my bodywork so far. A good few months ago I was swiped and my whole front left fender/bumper/headlight were destroyed. I gave him a week and my car looks better than it did new. I wouldn't suggest anyone else.

I went to beverly glen, looked at some of their work. I wasn't too impressed. I'll check Beverly Coachcraft. Are they better than Paulee Bodyshop?

Howard Brown & Sons at 11758 Olympic, west of Barrington, is incredible. They do great work. Ask for Brad. (310) 447-3934.

Showcar Restoration in Van Nuys is pretty damn good. They currently have one of our cars in 1000 pieces right now undergoing a total restoration

He does everything from classics to exotics. He's done work on Ferrari's and XJ220's.

Thats unfortunate. I am the most detail oriented and picky person you might meet, and I am totally satisfied with their work. They redid my whole front left quarter and the car looks more than great. Whereas it is not showroom quality (the only way to achieve that is to do it yourself), it works for me. Good luck in finding a shop that suits your needs. Keep us updated!

I stopped by Beverly Coachcraft- they do the best body and paint work I have ever seen. Needless to say, I will be taking my car there. I was shown several cars they were working on in various stages (including a certain Ms Lohan's SL65)- excellent work.

Really good bodywork IS showroom quality! The trick is to apply the paint and match what MB does in terms of gloss, colour, orange peel etc. With newer technology it's almost impossible to do yourself unless you have a paint booth etc. The newer (non-lacquer) paints are sticky and attract debris like you wouldn't believe.

Well, my only experience with Paulee is that he lives down the street from me. Other than that I know nothing. Beverly Coachcraft is the only place I would take mind for repair they are also certified by Mercedes-Benz USA for body repair and painting.

Good Body Shops in Los Angeles

I would never go to either Paulee's or Beverly Coachcraft. I work in the industry and see the outrageous way they run their businesses. They charge ridiculous prices and are not very nice either. I would suggest Beverly Hills Auto Body. They do great work and have fantastic service. They are located at 200 N La Cienega Blvd 310-657-5696. They are recommended by the city of Beverly Hills, and their specialty is high-end, european cars.
