I originally posted this in the W220 S class AMG forum, but thought it might get more views here. Quick question on the drive-dynamic seats--- (the owners manual and the search button haven't given me any answers)....when I hit the dynamic seat button on the drivers seat, with me in it, the light comes on and the dash indicates that the drivers side dynamic seat has been activated. However, the passenger side dynamic seat is seemingly acting strange. With the seat empty, the dynamic seat won't turn on. The button, when pushed, simply flashes once and goes out. Normal? Additionally, with a passenger in the seat, while the dynamic seat does turn on (the button stays lit), there is no message on the console regarding activation or deactivation when the button is pushed. Do I have a glitch? Thanks.

Acting strange? Why would you want the seat to work when nobody is in it? The seats detect whether there is a passenger sitting down on them or not (otherwise the seatbelt warning will come on constantly for the passenger). If there is no passenger, the drive dynamic seats wont switch on.

As for when you do have a passenger in the seat, i assume it doesn't appear on the console when it is activated because it is unnecessary information for the driver. The driver does not need to know that the passenger has activated his/her drive dynamic seat.

Thanks for the reply. I guess it makes sense that the drive dynamic seat wouldn't turn on without a passenger in the seat. However, the owners manual does reference a message in the display when the passenger side drive dynamic seat is activiated/deactivated.

mine acts as yours does; no message when passenger activates her dynamic seat, other than her cooing about how much she loves it...

yup, passenger had to be in the seat and the switch must be manually activated in my case!!

If you store one of the 3 seat presets with drive dynamic turned on then the passanger need only press the preset button to turn on dynamic. I found this eaiser than fumbling around for the button down near the floor. I don't know why the seat doesn't remember the setting from the last time a passenger was in the car.

my passenger seat doesn't show on my dash and the only way you can tell it's on is the light on the button, other than it working...
