How to pull check engine codes?

Is there a way to pull & look up check engine codes without going to the dealer? Have a check engine light and Kleemann needs to know what the code(s) are..

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

I am not 100% sure, but, I thought you could check stored codes by going into the hidden menu (where the DYNO MODE menu is).

Can someone confirm this?

I do know that most OBDII dataloggers have this ability.

Thanks for the fast input.. Looks like I'll just have to make the drive to the dealer(very friendly MB dealer that is ) and they will read the codes no questions asked.

Since the car has headers Kleemann speculates that the code would relate to the rear cats sensors being triggered with the car running very rich, pretty insignificant in reality.

Only insignificant wrt the needle on your worry meter. Very significant wrt your wallet if you run too long in a pig rich condition. Best case - it will generate carbon deposits in the converter. Worst case - all unburned fuel will be ignited inside the converter, which can cause total meltdown of the converter. Kindof your own, personal Three Mile Island. Best to stay off the throttle until this is resolved.
