Side marker lights

I just took delivery on my wife's E55 and want to change the side marker lights. When I changed the lights on my SL55 with the smoke lamp marker lights I had to pry out the orange ones. Has anyone replaced the side marker lights and if so how did you remove the stock ones?

Thanks

There are instructions in the owners manual on how to remove the markers. I can't remember if they slide forward or backwards, but with a little effort they come out, careful not to scratch the paint. The bulb housing then twists out. I used a plastic putty knife covered with a cloth baby diaper to help with the slight prying.
Hope this helps

Thanks. I tried to follow the instructions in the owners manual on the SL and came to the conclusion that whoever wrote it never tried to follow the instructions. I ended using a plastic tool as well . Thanks again.
