hello everyone i tested out the new 06 e55 today and the car had pano and sirius sat radio. unfourtantily the car was built early this year and secong shipment e55 can not have pano and sat radio. the dealer and i tried to configure it today and it failed to work properly due to bull**** if anyone has info on this please reply....

Can Drive 55

I saw some new C Class cars at a dealership with sat antennas on the roof. The salesman said that is where MB is placing them now. I suppose they are doing the same on the E class. So, deductive reasoning would theorize that the antenna cannot be mounted on the glass. I suppose that is an oversight of some engineer. I bet that in time they make design changes to correct this problem.

That is a supid dealer. SAT radio is going to factory installed only, and the only exception (for a limited time) are 211's with the pano roof. Eventually they too will be converted to factory order only.

I don't quite understand the problem here. I've just taken delivery of my E55 with Pano and it has Sirius (antennae mounted on trunk) and it works fine (however, unlike xm, no buffer when traveling under bridges/tunnels so drop outs occur!). I do like the programming options with Sirius more than xm .

the problem is when he configured the car in the system it said option 526 premium with pano not compatibale with 536 sat radio i though tit was strange as the car i test drove was an 06 with pano and sirius so... not sure what to think

I am pretty sure that sat radio can be retrofitted - even now that the sat radio receivers are no longer available through the dealers...

there is no such thing as 526 with pano, tell the salesman to order 626 premium pkg (that includes pano) and 022 (satellite radio).
