Boost Gauge - line to tap?

I have a boost gauge that I would like to temporarily install to see how much boost the car makes.... is there a line to easily tap into to measure boost for the E55?

On my C32, people said there was no vacuum type line to get into.... same thing for the E?

thx....

Cory @Kleeman told me that unfortunately there is no tap to measure the boost in 55K engines

All the vacuum hoses on the E55 motor are pre-supercharger so none of them will measure boost. The only way to accomplish this is to do what I am doing: Drill and tap a small nipple into one of the intake manifolds (drill at the rear so the lines wont be visible) and attach your boost gauge to that using a rubber vacuum line. Depening on what boost gauge you have you may need a 2BAR MAP sensor also.

Vic: why are you not using the autotap to read boost?

I dont think it is very accurate.. That, and the fact that I want a permanent boost display in the car.. Looking for a very nice looking gauge to add to the interior compartment (small rectangular digital gauge) that I can fit in to the ashtry or other descrete location.

This is the one I keep coming back to.. Just need to find a nice spot to mount it:

Just a thought but is there a Menu on the AC display that shows it? I am not sure but I know the coolant temp is in the menu. I am sure there is a secret menu somewhere that displays it.

I was hoping there would be. There are over a 100 items in that "secret" menu but we only know what the first 30 or so mean. THe rest of them havent been deciphered yet and I couldnt find anything that resembled boost.. I scrolled through alot of them looking for it.

Like you said, I would be surprised if it wasnt there.. heck, everything else under the sun is being displayed, so why not boost.
