Aux Input In Comand

sorry for the stupid question ... but where is the input hole in the COMAND unit to plug in auxiliary equipment?

Is the COMAND unit iPod-friendly?

Thanks in advance!

There is an AUX in connector on the back of the command. The newer cars (late 2004 and on) have the connector already wired and sitting in the glovebox. It's a little hard to spot because it is covered in a black plastic surround. Its at the top left side. If your car is 2003 - early 2004 then you probably dont have the connector in the glovebox.

You can purchase it for $40 and install it yourself.. takes about 1hr to take everything apart to get to it. The hardest part is fishing the wire between the command area and the glovebox area.

You can plug anything you want into it as long as you have the right adapter.. You should be able to put your iPod into it.. Only issue is that you will have to control what gets played by pushing buttons directly on the iPod.

For your 2005, they have an iPod Integration kit which allows full control of the iPod through the car's stereo/steering wheel.. Its $400 from what I remember but that gives you a fully integrated solution.

3.5 mm male to male connector that you can buy at Radio shock for $4.00 or your local walmart, Belkin has them too but for much more.
