I need some help guys...
I usually do more reading than posting, but this time I need some help. I was driving down the road today and my gas gauge starts blinking and my display reads check gas cap. I pull over to check it and it's closed. I turn the engine off and restart the car and the signal goes away. I figure it was just a malfunction. This happens twice. Then, a couple of minutes later my comand gives me a reading that says, voltage too low, turn on engine or comand will shut off in 3 minutes. I hit "ok" and the warning goes away. 2 minutes later it gives me the same reading but this time says it'll shut off in 10 seconds. I hit "ok" this time and it shuts off. No radio, no comand. Now my driving display just reads "audio off". I can turn the comand back on but it shuts off after a short time. I called the dealership and they told me it might be an alternator problem. Anybody else got any suggestions/opinions?

I had a similar experience after my battery was accidentally drained. The low voltage light came on and the command system shut down.
I would also not be surprised if the alternator is to blame.
O.T.- Can you post a few pictures of your wheels. I'm trying to find the right ones for my car.

There have been some problems with battery control modules that give this sort of message. I had the same problem after I left my lights on and they replaced the module. Also I understand that you must strictly follow the instructions when jump-starting the car.

Thanks for the tips guys, I dropped it off at the dealership this morning. My car had a hard time getting there. When I pulled in the bay the "alternator/battery shut off engine" light came on. It wouldn't even start after that. I'm assuming it's the alternator. They had to jump it just to get it to service. I'll keep you guys posted.
PS: Rock, I'll try to get some photos up but it might be a couple of days, pretty hectic rest of the week ahead.
