Manual transmission conversion?

Hi everyone,

I was curious as to whether anyone has tried retrofitting a manual transmission into a W211 E55. I tried searching but couldnt find any threads on the topic. I have driven a stock E55 and although the transmission works very well, I really enjoy shifting a stick. Any help or suggestions you can offer would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm almost positive either Brabus or Renntech will do this on a custom basis, i think it runs around 20k though, and im not sure which tuner does it.

Thanks for your reply. I figured the conversion would be expensive but 20k is more than I was anticipating. I did e-mail Brabus and am waiting for their reply. If I do hear back from them I will be sure to post here for any others that are curious.

I would suggest waiting for the M5 to be released in the US with a manual transmission. A manual E55 would be absolutely pointless, IMO as the auto is one of the cars best attributes.
