How much does the temp. affect drag times?

How much does the temp. affect drag times?
Do our E55s run much slower in warmer temperatures? I noticed on dragtimes.com that no one in the top 40 has run their car in 80+ degree temperatures. Was wondering, because I ran my car at the track yesterday and it felt slower in the 1/4 mile. My 60 foot was descent, but I was disappointed with my quarter mile runs. The best time I could run was a 12.2 with a 1.88 60 foot. Last month I ran a 12.1 with a 1.956 60 foot. There was about a 30 degree difference in temperatures in the 2 runs, from 55 degrees to 82 degrees.
As a side note, if this is true (That our cars run slower in warmer temperature), it should be interesting to see what type of times R&T and Car & Driver get for the new E63 in the next month.

Will an I/C pump upgrade solve heat and humidity problems at the track. I.E. will my beast perform in 95 degree temperature like the temp. was 55 degrees outside.

from my experience when drag racing my grand national and turbo t/a....one degree of temperature was worth one horsepower...if it's roughly 20 degrees warmer, i would expect a loss of two tenths and two mph...10 horsepower was worth one tenth...this is my experience...and my $.02 cents worth.

For those of you who is thinking about trading their E55 for a E63,give it some careful thoughts,b/c power will not be as easy to get on the E63 as it was on the E55.

Well, Car and Driver "corrects" their times, so the temp will be less of a factor. Not sure about Road & Track, but I always got the feeling that they tested with a hand held stop watch. Not serious, but their time tests are much slower than other magazines (except when they test Porsches) and much slower than what people get at the drag strip.
