How The Hell Do You Break This Beast In????
Whats Up Every1...I dont post much...but ive Got an 05 Grand Edition G55K, and a 2day Old 06 E55 Both White/Black...I was wondering What the BEST way to break the E55 in...On my G55 I Dont Remember what the Hell I did...but its broken in well, andputs a smile on my face everytime I get on it...I know the E55 is way Faster so I want to break it in THE BEST I CAN...to get the best response out the engine....Id Apreciate annnyy Imput....So Far Ive been keeping it at about 80-85mph and below...and taking it up to about 4800rpms ive gone about 180total miles so far driving like that....Any Suggestions...Thanx

No longer stock '06 E55, A3 3.2 Quattro, GLE 400d, R107 280SL, Golf Polo
Some say ride it like you stole it out the dealers door.... most of these engines do quite a bit of bench time so runing in is mostly to help tranny and alll bits and pieces settle... and prevent any lawsuit regardng some lose bolt somewhere.

I didn't baby my car during the first 1000 miles. I did occasional high speed runs on highways to go through different rpms.

I kind of mirrored what you did. I ran the car hard from day one but not for super long periods of times- just short bursts and quick freeway runs. Running the engine through the rpm spectrum is a good thing and then let it cool down. Once you are past the break-in you should be good to go for extensive power binges! These engines have been deemed "bulletproof" and I am glad I did the break in the way I did.

When i got my car i was easy first 500 kms after that I occasionally did run it harder towards the redline.

That sounds nuts to me...I mean drove the G55 nice and easy and its freaking beast...coulndt be happier....smoked a freak Cayanne Turbo, smoked and M3, ATe a Carrera....sO Im not sure how to go....For some reason the E55 Feels more precious to me so I wanna make sure its gana put a huge smile on my face everytime my foot gets heavy...thanx
