Is your E55 a toy or daily driver?

Christian,
I use my stock wheels with Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25. They worked extremely well this winter.
I believe doc is using Dunlop Wintersport M3.

Kev,
You basically take off, and mount snows on your stock rims? I am look for a whole new set. Maybe someone has an extra set of AMG's they are selling cheap or something. I did the take off and remount with my CLK. It was a pain in the ***.

I'm probably keeping the stock rims with winter tires combo and buying a second set of light forged rims with Michelin PS2 as the summer combo. I don't think the mouting-unmounting-remounting routine is good for the tires.

It can be both for me. There are periods where it has been driven daily, mostly by my wife and there have been weeks that it sits and I only started it up and moved it to not flatspot the tires and keep the fluids circulating.
My daily commute takes me through some really bad roads and I use my big F-250 for that.
My wife gets to alternate between her Touareg and the E55 since it stays at home, so sometimes it's her daily too.
If I didnt work in the locales I work in, I would drive it everyday.

E55 AMG/ 911 GT2/ 911 GT3
It's my toy... for weekends when the GT2 becomes too boring.
JUST KIDDING, of course.
It is a good daily driver thus far-- put over 2000 miles in the last month so I guess I've been driving it a lot.
I just hope it does not fall victim to notorious Chrysler build quality like previous year Mercedes. When I hear about all the warranty and build quality issues on this board, it makes me a bit nervous. Not that BM Trouble U is that much better, but...

06 E55 AMG (my dailydriver)
I see for most people it's a daily driver.
I guess there is not a better car out there that would have the practicality of a 4 door sedan with all that luxury and the acceleration/performance on par with P-cars and F-cars out there. It is THE PERFECT CAR, IMHO.
I hope to join the ranks of you guys very soon.....

Daily driver i can't live a day without it. It was gone for two weeks and i was going crazy.
I usually drive it to school and back then in the weekends i don't come out of the car, after i give it a nice bubble bath.

Good memory Kev, I did use the M3's. I really liked them.
Christian - I bought tires on some cheap but OK looking rims mail-order from tirerack. I've got the TPMS sensors so it cost a little more. When the weather changes, I just swap 'em. And my good rims don't have to face winter and potholes. If you really like the AMG rims, tirerack has them.

i'm i socal too and ordinarily get 10.5 - 13 mpg in my 55 wagon; daily driver, city streets (live in weho, work in century city). i feel it's necessary to go on freeway road rallies out to the desert once a month or so just to bring the "average mpg" number on the trip computer up to a respectable level!
