Hi. New to forum. Just traded 2002/e39 for 2005/e55. Love this car-best so far. Unfortunately, took a plastic bottle rocket on freeway today from landscape truck and knocked out front parktronics. Anyway, the m5 was wonderful, but e55 is divine; use to get cars pulling up on the e39 (and even the 993 Carrera I use to have)-seems like the other supercar owners leave the w211 alone...a couple thumbs up, but noone wanting to get walked. Happy to be here with all you.

Welcome to the Forum and congrats on the new car.

I also came from a BMW (M3), but it took me awhile to warm to the E55.

The E55 is still the fastest four door on the road (USA anyway). Even without mods only a handful of cars can challenge you.

thanks, Rock. it's interesting, but noone really seems to want to test our e55's. use to get lots pulling up on my e39 that was dinan badged (did simple s upgrade-cold air intake, free flow, s2 download and front brace etc.). have pulled up on a few 997s carreras, one ferrari and a e60/v10...just enough to see if they would try and pull...but to no avail, they seem to leave the e55 alone. love this car-was a bit bummed about freeay bottle, but all considered she's okay-will be fixed Mon. what do you think about the e63 forthcoming?

I think you should stick with your E55. The E63 will give you more stock HP but it gives up a significant amount of torque. It will also have the new 7-speed gearbox but this will likely shine only at higher speeds (like the E60 M5).

If you wanted a car that is easy to modify you made the right purchase.

Finally, Do you want this fugly emblem on the side of your E?

good point. have you e55 brothers kept the upright star badge or gone to flat badge on hood? also, the w211 was pulling to right just after purchase, but now fixed since new camber bolts and adjust-now is straight as arrow...by the way our w211 is faster to 60 and 1/4 versus e60/m5/v10. a bit pissed still about the bottle to fender on freeway...thanks.

 

OOO im looking for an 01/02 M5!! can you give me somt things to look out for! and about how much the market is on them!!
