Car is back from Kleemann !!!!!!

Well I pciked up the car yesterday and I was very happy with the extra power. That is money well spent in my eyes. I am going to the drags this weekend to test it out and see what it can do. I do have a few questions and I am waiting to hear back from Kleemann on it. On the drive back I had my check engine light come on? I read this could happen by removing a set of the cats and the second thing is, When I stop the car and it is in drive you can hear a metal on metal vibration? If you put the car in park it will stop. It is very close to the sound my cts-v made when we upgraded the exhaust and it was too big. We had to add spacers etc to keep the exhaust off the rest of the car. Any one with any of the same issues, please let me know what you did to correct them. Overall great car tons of power and a gain of 92hp and 118lbft, may see another 10hp and lbft once the ecu gets more miles. Very happy.

I did the K2. It was set to get the K2 and tb but switched from the tb to the lsd. I spoke with the guys over there and they had the same year e55 with the same set up except it had the tb. They said the other car pulled harder on the top end. I asked how much faster in say the 1/4 and the response was 1/4-1/2 car length and maybe 1-3mph faster. Not worth the extra $$$ to me as I am not always driving above 60mph in the city. I did have some good blast on the way back and must say its a different car. If I can get rid of that damn cel and more importantly that metal on metal noise, I will be one happy camper. Did you remove your primary cats? any cel since you have had the car? Any metal on metal noise???

First, congrats on the upgrade. You made an excellent choice.

As far as the issues with the engine light, and the metal on metal vibration............... they should not be happening. Take you car back to the installer and have them fixed. The K2 upgrade should be seamless. If you are hearing new sounds (other than an aggressive exhaust) and seeing warning lights on your dash, something is wrong.

Best of luck and keep us updated.

I had... and still have... a metal tinging sound when I accelerate. Cory speculated in might be some loose solder in the exhaust, etc... my dealer noted that Kleeman literally had to bend the heat shield by the headers so the headers would fit... and my headers on one side are touching this shield every so slightly. That rattle or loose sounding metal ting you have may be the same thing. It is intermittant and comes and goes based on rpm. They didn't want to try and bend it further, and I have yet to take it to a muffler shop to see if they can bend it.

Cory anknowledged that sometimes they just don't bend the heat shield enough and that the explaination makes sense.

Just a thought,

Loren
