E63 wheels on an SLK55? (with photochop)

Hi Folks,

Got an SLK55 on order. Really dig the new 5-spoke titanium-grey wheels on the 63AMG's. Looks like the CLK63's version of them fit the SLK almost perfectly. Has anyone here ever ordered a custom build with different wheels from the factory? Does MB do this? Do you have to pay for the wheels on top of the stock wheels, or just the difference?

Here's what it would look like:

From this picture it appears that you'd have to lower it a bit to remove those gaps between the wheelwells - especially in the rear. I have stock SL/CL/S 65 wheels on my car and they fit fine. Didn't get them with the car though so I don't know what the deal with the dealership is. They should let you do it. Looks good. Good luck.

Actually, the gap in the photochop is the stock gap. I resized the wheels to exactly overlay the size of the stock 16-spokers.

Wow, I'm surprised. It seems alot higher than most AMG cars. Kind of as if its on the raised suspension setting. Either way, it looks good IMO

The base photo is off mercedes-amg.com. You're right, it does seem high. Didn't seem that high in person when I test drove. SLK doesn't have adjustable suspension AFAIK, so that's weird.

Yeah, I do like the wheels much better than the stock ones. Plus, I really don't want to be cleaning 16spokes x 4wheels = 64spokes on a regular basis.

The gap doesn't seem quite as large in this MB photo:

Visually, smaller cars do better with more spokes... I'm not feeling that 5 spoke at all.
