My car did not come from the factory with the phone but was prewired. They added the phone at the dealership. It's located in the trunk forward of the spare tire on the right side. Lift up the floor mat and there is a plastic cover for several components such as the nav system, phone etc. The phone plugs into wires that are already in the console.

You're right. There is a false floor in the console, and a plug is added and connected to wires already in place. Then the phone cradle (or Bluetooth device) can be attached. Most of the work to be done is in the trunk.

I found directions at the link below. Not exactly simple, but fairly straightforward. But it does look like some Star Diagnostics programming is required, i.e. trip to the dealer.

Does this mean the dongle can be kept in the trunk and not in the center console? Or is this just where the anchor for the phone wiring is...

I e-mailed them about 10 days ago and they told me another 40~50 days. Shoot over an e-mail and see how far they are away from development.

Correct me if I'm wrong, this device CAN be installed w/ out the factory installed phone kit, right?
My dealer told me almost $2,000 for the factory phone kit.
I replied with, "moving right along"

Yes. This is a completely independent unit that does not need the factory phone kit to operate. I e-mailed Tom at K1 Motorsport yesterday and I'm sure he'll get back to me by tomorrow as today is Christmas and they are probably closed. Ill post whatever he says in this thread.

Just heard back from Tom at K1 Motorsport. He says that the MOST version of Argos Bluetooth (for the W211) will be available by EARLY MARCH. Yep, 2 more months. Sorry.
