How much do things weigh?
........I am interested in shedding weight. I have eliminated the spare tire well in my W210 E55 and have also changed my car battery to the 25lb optima battery. I am interested in loosing more lbs. Some have mentioned removal of the back seat. I want the care to appear like a daily driver, besides I have removed my back seat bottom.and do not find it to weigh much.......probably 15lbs. This brings me to the issue of unsprung weight reduction.
.......I currently have light weight rims that weigh 30lbs each. Are there rims that weigh much less than this?
.........Brakes. I have the C32 brakes on my W210 E55. I am perfectly happy with them and they look and perform excellently.............except they weigh a ton. I weight the C32 rotors and they each weigh 25lbs. That adds up to 50lbs alone for the rotors, not including calipers. Options include the SLK55 brake kit, stoptech, brembos, and mov-it/Klemann brakes.
.......so my question is. Does anyone know how much these brake kits actually weigh compared to stock? Real figures.
