Angry What is it !

What causes that hesitation/lurch/engagement etc at light/moderate throttle and from a stop @ around 1800 rpm??? Is it the S/C, the transmission or the torque converter? If you're very gentle with the throttle it's not there, or if you're heavy on the throttle it's not there, but only at moderate to light throttle.

I've done a search and it appears it's the torque converter locking up but why does it have to be like this? My CLK 500'd never displayed this trait?

Thanks

supercharger clutch engaging,i used to think my car had shifted into second too early then found out that it was just the clutch engaging.i spoke w/renntech about this and they told me their ecu upgrade engages the clutch earlier to help with this.

Why does it have to be this way??? Why do some say it's the torque converter locking up?

First time I drove the car i thought it was a transmission problem. Until thanks to this forum i realised it was the supercharger clutch. It did get better with the ecu upgrade. It was kind of annoying especially with passengers in the car.

Now when i drive around at light throttle i put the transmission in comfort mode which helps also.

If it's the S/C clutch then why doesn't it do it with heavy throttle from a stop

I think at wot the clutch engages instantly so we don't feel it. Just speculating- When i first installed the asp pulley i drove for two blocks without a supercharger belt and it did not do it.

I don't feel it at even half throttle, but if it went away w/o the s/c belt then that must be it. ..it's just so darn intrusive.
