To all, does anyone know what the E63 msrp will be?
What is delivery time? Are dealers charging premiums?
Opinions on ordering an E63 or getting a 2006 E55 at a good discount?

I, personally, would go with the '06 E55 if you can get a good deal on it. You'll not be disappointed. I plan on probably getting the W212 when it comes out (if they don't screw up the body design / esthetics) - between now and then MB should have had plenty of time to work any foibles with their new engine that are sure to arise. Let someone else suffer through any of these, and then get myself a "clean" one. That's just me, though.

I can't imagine the pricing to be much different from the E55. Just expect to pay MSRP for a little while since it is the new "hot" item. It is not going to be a great leap from the outgoing AMG model, unlike the BMW M5.

BTW - what's "serial killer art"??

Personally, i find the amount of problems that seem to regularly come up with 211 E55's, very disturbing! Even my own car has had to be towed and been to the shop twice in a week of ownership, not even reached 500miles! Honestly its kind of ruining the experience for me, as i am living in fear that one day my car will start surging, stalling, lunging, chirping, going slower etc etc!!
That said, however, i am happy to keep the car for i know that years from now, despite newer more powerful models coming out (such as the 63) that with basic and proven tuning upgrades i will be able to stay ahead of the production pack. I think the E63 with its 7speed and wound up NA motor will be more fun to drive but at the end of the day its not available NOW, plus light tuned e55s will eat them

Tighter steering rack, re-engineered front control arm mounting points, stiffer bushings, software evolution in suspension, better OEM rubber, better and lighter braking system, second evolution Distronic(?) -- and I forget what else....
In ROW cars they even get the new Intelligent Lighting System - which will probably not get to the USA until sometime next calendar year (unfortunately!).

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's been my car-buying approach and logic - it has never underserved me to be patient and wait / watch, and listen to feedback from owners that went before me. That's why I can comment that I'm pretty sure he'd like the E55, but I can't recommend the E63 because I have no reference from which to form an opinion, other than the pre-introduction media propaganda and test-drives. It sounds like the E63 is going to be pretty awesome, though, and I can't wait to read the posts from the first group of owners!

Picked up my "receipt" for my order yesterday and the price was $444,444. You can imagine my surprise when handed that! I thought they were jokingly trying to sell me the Carrera GT in their showroom. Turns out that the price is just their default number because the MSRP hadn't been released yet.
One disapointing fact is that the E63 will not have the new Distronic. I find the current one an annoyance. It keeps you too far behind the car in front in order to send the message, "PLEASE GET OVER NOW."
They did add the headlight washers (REALLY big down here in FL)!

man i could use one of those. does anyone know if we can use the new rack in the 55s? I find the steering pretty boring and not geared positively enough!

Tx for all the advice, I'm still wondering what dealers are asking to E63, are they going straight msrp? I understand MBZ frowns upon premium above msrp? is that correct.

I understand the list pricing on the E63s will be similar to the E55s, maybe $1K more like the 2006 price increase, but that's not comparing apples to apples.
E55's can be had for $5-10K discounts...so that's the real comparison.
Aside for the "easier to mod" perspective, I have a hard time believing that -- all things being equal (all prices being equal) -- people would select a 2006 E55 over a 2007 E63.
From everything I see and hear, the E63 is a better car. And, you gotta give MB some credit that they have some clue what they are doing and are bringing out a better car.
Now, I do understand the perspective that new editions have flaws and it's better to wait a year or two for them to iron out the kinks, but that's a different point.
