Gas Tank Leaking Somewhere On The Top?
Has anyone had this happen.
I was driving home from the Harley Dealership today and began to smell gas. I made it home scared as hell, took off the belly pan on the rear driver's side and saw gas leaking down the sides of the tank.

Holy Cow!! Not good. I had that happen on an old car. it was due to the fuel system getting too much pressure built up and having the pump still push. Hope everything works out for you. I'd call the 800 number and let them deal with it.

Today, the dealer said they have a memo on the gas tank seals failing. There is a newer type seal being used now. Look out for this problem. You can stick your fingers in the belly tray in front of the driverside rear tire to see if it is wet or smells of gas.
