OK, now you're just being silly - everyone knows that an attic fan won't fit under there.

You need to mount one of those silver turbine roof vents that are powered by the wind to the top of your hood. I bet that puppy would suck some heat out at 75 mph!

Well Guys , I didn't have the wind tunnel

Well Guys , I didn't have a wind tunnel. So I tied small red threads to the screens and taped some across the hood. This way I could watch the air over the hood . then also see the heat rise out of the louver at speeds. When the radiator suction fan kicked in . the red threads stood straight out. My concern was motor heat soak in traffic and at low speeds. This maybe was a little crude , but was an effective way to watch air and heat risers. Happy trails

Fantastic job! How do you keep the water out (rain or car wash)?

The results were expressed in barometric pressure. There were 2 inputs running at any given time and the results had to be correlated over a number of tests. Like I said, I can't remember the name of the gizmo they used.

Well I hand wash the car , so i don't let the water hose run into the louvers , full blast ,and I do drive it in the Rain. Sometimes here in FLA. It rains Quite Hard.. I figured it to be no worse than the wind driven rain coming through the Radiator at road speeds.. I did look to see if any Electrical connections are exposed to the elements. All where weather Pack type of Connectors. MB did a good job here. The louvers are placed back far enough to keep any Fallen water away from the poly vee belts. When the car is at a stand still. The air box is wide enough to cover the intake manifold & Ign coil paks. ___PTE___

20+ to list......
A good idea, but somehow I don't think the vents flow with the lines of the car.

You are wrong, it is NOT a photoshop or any other shop for that matter...,
but the sarcastic reference to "a hack saw" should have been a dead give away...

The subtlety of sarcasm was lost in the written form.

Whose car is it?
Still doesn't do anything for me.

As they say: "sarcasm is the lowest form of wit" so don't feel bad for aiming higher!

It's my car, which I mocked up with black electrical tape when a few months back we all got excited about the aborted C/F hoods and guys wanted to see what the vents might look like.
I posted a few pictures then for discussion and am surprised that nobody pulled me up this time when the same car re-appeared.

It doesn't do anything for me either, my car is still vent free!

Grumpy,

You crack me up! You need to grab yourself a slightly used E55 so you can join in on all the fun!

Yeah, well, that probably won't happen.

I sprained my lower spine a few years back, so it would be difficult for me to grab my ankles when buying tuner parts.

Good one! But, then, you wont have to do that if you are part of the crowd.. We'll come up with our solutions.

So true.Im having a real hard time coping with the prices that these tuners are getting for their parts. Its just amazing how much they get for the same style parts that you can buy for an American made car.

No, Bob, it's more like: When do you play in a crooked poker game?

When it's the only game in town . . .

I'm just going to throw this out....
I was over at my friends house this weekend and we were moding his SS. I know it is a complete diffrent make- but jsut bear with me. Under the car i saw this 'flap' look alike plastic. The flap was about 2-3 inches, It was sticking down towards the floor from infront the engine. He said that pushes air up-infront of the engine, to the blade. He said if he removes it his car would run 10* hotter. Maybe it is a mod one of you two can design and come with. Getting air pushed from the bottom to the top-forcing air to come out. Just an idea.

p.s.

I know some of you are freaking out because of water etc. But most of you don't drive the car for winter, so i dont think it should be a problem. Also, if dirt/ leaves etc-- you can put a some sort of -'grill' to stop big things from going under the hood. But he said he has never had problems with that. And his engine bay looks clean and he drives the car all year long...heres a pic of his car... ill try to get a picture of the flap... Just throwing some ideas so you guys can ta take of the cooling problems !

my ps skills suck- still working on them !
