Pulley Problems-advice
nice guy at Shoreline Auto/Tuning (so. cal) mentioned that he has heard some issues w/ pulley install. mentioned that although there are many tuning shops, there's risk of pulley not being installed precisely and this has caused many worn belts and etc. anyone w/ stage 1 have/hear of these issues...thoughts on it being pulley wheel and/or installer? have also heard that given the weight of the e55, that light mods aren't very noticeable off line (to 60 & 1/4)-difference only felt at top end above 125 mph. to really feel it from off-line & top end, you need to begin at least w/stage 2...thoughts? seems like maybe infer that unless can go beyond light mod, maybe better to save $ and go w/ swap of stock Conti II's & wheels to 19" upgarde to both...
also, any SF tuners seem to have excellent history w/ Klee/RENN/Evo? thanks, Klub.

My suggestion to you is simple - search.
There are probably over 20 threads addressing many questions you bring up.
P.S. Shoreline is a GREAT wheel/tire shop. However, they subcontract almost all of their performance work.

with the simple pulley/ecu stage 1 mods easily pumping 520+hp, surely it'd be noticeably more punchy under 125mph! Nope i flat out dont believe whoever told you that! also the more HP you have, the more HP you need to feel the difference, therefore id say for eg stage 3-4 would be not as noticable as a stage stock-1.

Keep in mind that mods are imcrementala and can usually be factored as a diminishing PERCENTAGE of gains. When you have 500hp, 10% is 50hp. Also, keep in mind that these cars are MOD friendly, in that they can be tweaked quite a bit compared to a comparable NA car. That means we need to be careful with what we do, but that certain things really can give a nice "bump". Odds are that the first of most mods will give the biggest bang as you are farther from your potential at stock and have not hit that point of diminishing returns as hard.
That is why some do a header and get good gains. Some do a pulley and get good gains. But, when most do BOTH in succession, the second one just doesn't have as much bang. Doesn't mean the mod didn't work.
