How to do rolling starts on E55...just mash the pedal in M and quickly change to S ??? so M's wont get a jump while our autos go to lower gear...

Man...thanks for the vid, but I hardly could tell who is who, looks like the M5 got a hell of a jump on the E55 K2, I could be wrong.

 

you only need to downshift and be in the right gear to avoid that happening.

 

i am not going to drive with a sony digital camcorder on my passenger seat, i am just useing whatever phone i have handy...

i always drive on S mode and when there is a race i just shift the nobe to the left till i get to the right gear 1 or 2nd depending on rpm...usuallty 4000-4500 is the best for my car.

you are right....the M5 is a very powerfull car needless to say its also slightly modified...my tires need to be changed soon i have atlease 7000 km (aprox 4400 miles) on them.

the m5 had atleat 1 car jump and the e55 reeled him in and the video stops just as he has about 1/2 car length

if the video would of continued.. the gap would have increased.

Finally a video of an E55 vs M5 but really does not prove anything. Need to take both vehicles out the track and have a better video.

 

so thats what its like racing an m5 when he uses launch function?! Gets off the line pretty good! You obviously have the edge in grunt tho!

Did he leave the line before you due to better reaction time or did you both leave the line same time? Id think thats not one of your best launches right?

 

we raced from rolling start...S mode 1 gear 4000 rpm...i never race an M5 when i hear it reving at a stop....very dangours car from a stop...but with out the launch control that the M5 is capable of ...it will not stand a chance after 100 KPH...just like you saw in the video....Peace

I'm sorry but to me it is! I've heard of some Stck M5's beating stg 1 and 2 E55's. However,nowadays who knows?

 

Never heard of m5 beating stg2 and im on boards almost everyday.

 

m5/e60 will not even take a stock 55 in between anything to 1/4mi. stage 1/2 would eat it for lunch at least up to 125+. plain truth. know a m5 owner who has s55 amgtoo-he concedes this point too. believe me, he loves his car/s enough to stand up for them, if he is able.

In fact Stage 1 E55 would just be enough.. depending on reaction of the driver.

Stage 1 E55's trap about the same as a stock E60 M5. Also, keep in mind the video shows a full exhaust and chip M5 .

Stage 2.. there is no way (unfair race) unless the M5 has a 75+ shot of the gas.

 

Well guys...I raced many time M5 and Hamann tuned M6 (567 HP) over these weekends and I say btw those 2 in 1/4 mile run everything depnds on "LAUNCH"... Whoever launches better wins in 1/4 mile...

At higner speeds m5/m6 is faster...if we talk stock to stock...

If M5 /M6 uses "LAUNCH CONTROL" then they get good jump and it very diffucult to catch up...

If without launch control it would be close...

Misha what mods does the hamman m5 has to make it 560 hp? is it bolt ons like exhaust and ecu or is it has to do somthing like cams ETC?
