I agree with Jrocket... the DR's are going to perform the best at the strip. I'll run whatever you're not running. Anything has got to be better than my 285 25 20's. LOL
Loren -- I can't believe you organized with it being your first trip to the track... AMAZING!!! Great leg-work Loren. I owe you my friend. You're next trip to Vegas... I've got you... just let me know what you need!

Loren -
If your Pilot Cups are brand-new, they could still be affected by the mold release used in manufacturing.
A few heat-cycles or a couple of hundred miles should bring out the tack you are looking for.

loren - if you have too much torque to get you going, maybe we can get you into the new e63! well, at least let me say I can't wait to see how the cars turn out in a same condition comparison!

Someone better bring a laptop to give us an hour by hour update.
Example:
8:00-9:00 Best run= Loren with a 10.82 @138mph
9:00-10:00 E63 runs a 12.8 @ 112 on NOS
10:00-11:00 M5 wimps out and goes home. J/k

Basically, I'm really looking at getting smaller / matching Kinesis wheels to house some nice drag radials...

I dunno... let's see... 75 miles on a Friday morning in LA traffic...
I have no idea... between 8 and 9... I'll need a little time to set up stuff, too. Apparently they open the gates at 8... most people should show up at 9 or later, as we'll have some pics to take, tech inspection, etc, etc...

Damn that's early. Don't freak if I'm not there that early... I'm traveling across the 101... hard to predict. I have the balance due on the track rental too. If you want, I can call you and give you an eta on the way... its a big ol' caravan... you can leave when we get close, whatever works for you...

Wow... its 12:30 PST... and the temp right now in Fontana, CA is 68 degress! The high tomorrow will be 79, and if today is any indication, that may be stretching it.
This a huge change from the 90s and 100s we've been getting for the past month or so.
We may be dragging on the coolest day in LA in a couple months!

There it is Gents, pics of tomorrows lie detector!!!
I was just out there talking to Dave,he's not sure what lane he is giving us to run on but Dave and I both thought the left lane would be best, you can get better pics of the cars if they run the left lane. Both starting line areas looked to have a fair amount of rubber down but the left lane looked better all the way down compared to the right lane. Also I dont think they will have any seating(grandstands)tomorrow,so best to bring some chairs. In the 2nd pic you can see the guys putting the stands back up.....They have a long ways to go!

Loren,
My flight gets in to John Wayne at 11:30am tomorrow. If you are still at the track in the afternoon, can you put my name down at the gate? I would love to watch or participate if a spot opens up. THX

Remember you E55'rs, Derek's launch technique works PERFECTLY. Leave on the last yellow. Sounds weird, but by the time you react and car starts to move, you'll cut near perfect lights. Not sure bout other AMG's, but for the E, it works like a charm.
If anyone wants to try her in dyno mode...here ya go.

Also can someone try one run as is, then do the Sneaky tranny ECU reset and try it one more time.
1. Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position. (basically get dummy lights on)
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.
3. Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
4. Wait at least two minutes for ECU to reset.

Out Of Control!!
The weather looks like its going to be perfect for you all. Take lots of vids and pics! Our track day on monday is gonna be crazy! Weather will probably be in the 80's though. Since I've rented the track out a few times in the past, we get to run a few heads up at the end of the day (i.e. E63 vs. E55 and others!). I might just buy a digital camcorder for this!

Trick 101, 6 gallons... just for you because you had asked for it! I actually have a frickin' full tank of regular gas in my car I forgot to get rid of, so unless I drive in circles tonight, I'm stuck with good ol' 91... but I am bringing the Trick for you. That'll be $42 please.
