If they are real, either 2 piece or 3 piece yes. If they are only for show NO.

Not always.... HRE makes wonderful three piece wheels in their 8xx series that have hidden hardware.

I always liked rivets / bolts - gives that modded look although too many rivets / bolts can be overwhelming ... maybe its getting a bit tired now - not sure - but I love my 19" AMG splits with the recessed bolts ... pics to come soon as soon as I get the TPMS sensors swapped over.
Fake rivets are a reall no-no though.

I'm a no rivets guy. Sadly, this severely constrains wheel choices as rivets seem to be all the rage with the rice boy racey drift joey look alike crowd
Rivets clutter up the look and are a ***** to keep clean.

I have rivets on my Iforged, but I could go either way, depending on the design. While I think 2 or 3 piece wheels look good even without rivets, rivets should ONLY on be true 2 or 3 piece wheels. If they are 1-piece wheels, don't fake the funk.

Another thing to consider is that IMO the rivets make the wheel look much smaller. If you compare the AMG 19's with rivets to our stock 18's without rivets you can barely notice that the 19's are any bigger.

They are not really "rivets" . David thats a great observation on the size perspective. if you look at a 19" 547r compared to a 19" 847r...the 847r looks bigger...
