I brought it off a Russian trader in Berlin near Check Point Charlie who also sold me a clock out of a Mig Jet.

It looked cool so I just put it there to keep the german theme as with the tags, something different here in Australia compared to the norm.

Its in German, I think it says in english "United German Motor Sport" ?

The camera is an EOS 1DS MkII with a 70-200 2.8 IS Lenz for most of the shots. All settings and exposures are different due to various lighting conditions.

Yep... it's metallic green in the sun. Black all other times.

THANKS all for the great feedback!

Yeah... we did some rolling drags but the 997 put us in our places. I didn't do very well as I could only go to 5500 rpm due to a ongoing problem but soon will be corrected. See my rpm when doing 300+, photo above.

But I did the best burnout

Most cars were in the same ballpark except the 997 rocket.

No, just an enthusiast with an Eos 1ds mkii.

A professional photographer was present who set up some of the cars for their Magazine shots, I just leached angles in the background and watched the master at work on the shots where all the cars were gathered together.

An Editor and his Photographer (Tim & Guy) attended from the Australian MOTOR magazine. These guys brought along the 997 for a story.

I believe the issue will be published around Nov - Dec.

I'll keep you all posted.

The roads were very bumpy on most sections which most likely limited these vehicles speeds. The BM's and 55's have more suspension travel. I know that the F430 did around 310 plus. The 997 was a loaner and was treated with respect.

You can't really feel the bumps 100 k's, but when you hit 300 it becomes quite violent.

Bugs weren't the problem, there is red dust on all the roads so when you hammer, the cars up front kick it up and it then becomes a front end sand blaster.

The F430 nearly lost it on the twisty turns and showered me with rocks which put small cracks on the screen. My fault shouldn't of sat up his rear end.

Then to top it off, I went to get the screen fixed at the local town, so when I drove out of the windscreen business an old girl on a push bike slammed into the side of my right fender. I straightened it out with a few taps of a claw hammer. Lucky I use photoshop.

Then when loading the 55 on to the trailer to go home, the front left Brabus wheel scraped up the steel checker plate barrier which eff-ed the rim.

Yeah... so the bugs weren't a problem

Nice work!
There was 16,000K's on the clock when I got it, the rest is by me.

I love this car and drive it every day. The torque is unbelievable for an every day 12 sec taxi.

I'm not a Porsche fan but... be careful boys it's not a typical Porsche. I've developed a healthy respect for the 997. (Scud missile?)

No... it was a 4 pot turbo, I think it done about 260 to 280 I think. Apparently this is a rare model.

I flew past it anyway...
