Anyone know why my E63 would be delayed at the VPC in Jacksonville? Anyone had that experience and actually gotten an answer (w/ any MB)? Looked at 2 CLS63's today, one black and one silver. Almost pulled the trigger on the black one. Looks awesome. Drove it today and that thing flies especially in 60-100 mph. Anyway, getting frustrated cause my stupid car is at the VPC and don't know when it is going to be released. I would simply get another but the problem is there are NONE available in the Southeast. My dealer checked the listing and there is only 1 in South Carolina (already owned), or so they say.

Let me know if any of you have had similar VPC nonsense.

 

not to say the car is damaged during shipping but that's a possibility. sometime the car stays for minor work if it didn't pass port inspection. could be anything.

 

they're trying to put back the missing hp to the car. j/k. it's probably because it didn't pass inspection or last minutes changes, etc.

I took delivery of my car less than two weeks ago in Sc. My car rolled off the ship on a Friday and I was driving it away from dealer the following Thursday morning. 6 days From ship to my hands.

Press the dealer for info. You're the one with the $, see if they will "bend over backward" and pick up the phone. A legitimate phone call if you ask me. There is an e63 sitting at the MB dealer in Hilton Head. Rumor has it they are willing to sell at a discount. I believe it is GREEN though- might explain the discount.

Good luck. So far, I am liking my E63 quite a bit. Plenty fast. Noticably faster than my e46 M3. I don't think you'll be dissapointed.

Patience my friend... It didnt pass inspection so they have to implement the finishing touches to your E63.

 

My dealer was trying to tell me that I would have the only one in SC!!!! I said, "not true as there is a guy on the message boards who already has one." They said that they could not confirm that. They have actually been pretty good. Just sold my '03 M3 and have been allowed to test drive their CLK63 and CLS63 while I wait for my car. The black CLS63 looks AWESOME. That thing was calling my name and I almost got it yesterday. It has 63 miles but from hearing these 'test drive a.k.a drag' stories (and playing with it a little myself) I would be hesitant to pick it up.

You are right tho, they seem to be quite a bit quicker than the M3 which is puzzling that people (Derek) got such low numbers when the M3 is fast in its own right. Anyway, dealer put me in a C230 SPORT until mine comes in. Note the sport, all 201hp of it. I think it has the 7spd tranny as well (at least that's what it says on the website) and its pretty good.
