Paint Peal Problem On Hood Anyone Else Have The Same Issue?
The pain on my hood up by the wind shield wipers is pealing and cracking off on the rounded edge. You cannot see it looking at the top of the hood but from inside the cabin I see a big chunk of paint missing.
It is doing it on several part of the hood along the same seam up by the wind shield wipers.
The car has never been repainted and is a black 2004 E55.
I want the dealer to repaint the hood but I think it might be a fight. Anyone else with the same issue?

Never heard of this problem. Are you sure the car hasn't been repainted? Adhesion issues are related to improper surface prep and the factory is extremely meticulous. Keep in mind some cars are damaged during shipping and repaired at the port.

Is it on the edge where the wipers will scrape along the edge of the hood if they are in the up position and someone raises the hood? maybe someone damaged your paint by opening the hood with the wipers up.

prolly was repainted sounds like delamination is the clear just peeling off or peeling down to the primer-after having managed a dealers body shop you'd be surprised at the #of new cars with paint work before they even see the lot
