Brake Difference E63 vs E55
Brake Difference E63 vs E55
I was told by my friend that works at a dealership one of the difference between E63 and E55 is the brake system. E63 now uses a mechanical brake master cylinder compare to our E55 which are electronically controlled., can someone verify this, and if MBUSA decide to go back to mechnical brake master cylinder should we be worried that our E55 are electronic and could pose failure due to electrical fault?
Or maybe because E63 doesn't have as much torque there's no need for our E55 electronic brake?

It is true. MB has had enough "failures" with SBC to take it off of ALL cars for now.
In all honesty, I can't tell you that answer. It is actually a legit question. Oddly enough, many that have had the issue seem to get over it real quick and do not usually post follow ups, so I do not know if MB takes care of them somehow or if they just get over it. Personally, my first time would be my last MB but it has not happenned...yet. I try to keep blind faith with MB on this, but I do rely on the brakes more than most, so it is a thought that crosses my mind at speed.
