Help me decide. E63 or SL550?

I would say an SL600 / SL65 ( ) would be a fine fine ride if its an even money choice... especially if the 600 / 65 is a late model low miler ... the depreciation hit will be harsh on the SL550 ... but that new motor is really putting out some good numbers.
Have to say ... I really would vote for a used SL65. But if u dont need the extra power ... you will love your new ride.... congrats and enjoy!!!!

E63!
Where I'm from, everyone and their mom's have an SL. Be it a 500, 550 or 55. Although I have always loved the look and lines of an SL I think the E63 will definitely stand out more. Anywhere in Orange County I will see atleast 25 SL's before I even see 1 E63.

id like to say that if your going for pure performance and you want to tweak the **** out of the cars you selected, i would not pick either car, i would find a used sl600 turbo and drop the already depreciated value into the motor and some cosmetics and you'll have a 700hp beast that blows away mostly everyone with luxury.
Or just go buy a new Z06 and smoke everyone for 70 grand lol lmfaoo

IMHO! Nothing beats the handling of a beamer.
Plus the F10 M5 has great potential for upgrades. I have herd that Manhart Racing are working on a 1000HP F10 M5.

gonna have to disagree strongly on the handling and somewhat on the performance (mushy throttle response, huge lag with paddle shifters). throws you about over bumps like an ocean liner in rough seas.

I don't get it???
Huh? I have the E55 - and, while I think it is superior to the E63, I don't get your comment at all (about the slow four door sedan). The SL500, SL550 and even the SL55 AMG guys think they're real fast, b/c most don't have clue the E class is lighter and faster than the SL. I have to assume your comment was made in jest. My vote is definitely the E63 - hands down. It is the ultimate sleeper with room for four! I have surprised so many Vettes and others with my E55. One C5 Vette owner asked me (after I ate his lunch)... "What in the HELL is that thing!" Go for the E63 - you won't regret it. If cost is a concern, I'd rather have a used AMG than a new 550 any day of the week!

With the type of money you're going to drop, go for the SL550, it looks way better and in real world driving, that power difference is negligible, and if seating ain't a factor, then the SL is a no-brainer, curb weight, 0-60 times, hp figures, all that is great if you care, if you are past that, do the SL.
