2006 SL65 ///AMG - GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN: 2005 E55; 2002 ML55; 2001 CLK55; 1992 BMW 850i; 1991 M5
Pulley Question

I crossed paths with a guy who has a Kleemann Crank Pulley - no belt - for a very reasonable price. It has never been installed. Are these overdrive pulleys fairly "generic" from one manufacturer to another? Assuming, of course, that I mean a reputable manufacturer such as Kleemann, RennTech, EvoSport. Are they generally the same size and offer the same per-cent overdrive ratio? Will I get enough bang for the buck to go with this mod alone, or do I ned an ECU flash to go with it? If it sounds like I should jump on it, do I need a different belt, or is there enough adjustment in the tensioner to use a stock belt? Any and all opinions welcome and appreciated.

Does "ttt" mean "true - true - true"??? I guess that would mean yes to all questions and I should jump on this Kleemann pulley!

No, ttt means to the top. He posted to bump your thread to the top in the E55 forum. Don't know why he did what he did (maybe he was looking for the same answer you are looking for).

Sorry, can't help you on the pulley question.

PDC, I’d assume you’d either need a larger belt or a reduction in size of one of the other pulleys to compensate. Based on what I’ve found on the forums, it seems like many of the ASP pulley users have been running w/o a software upgrade without a problem. I suggest calling the manufacturer regarding your questions. They should be ready and willing to help you answer any and all questions regarding their product. Cory from Kleemann has been awesome in helping me answer all of my questions.
