First I want to apologize for posting these pictures a bit late as it was about 2 months ago that I took a trip to MECCA (AMG Power Plant)....

Let me just say that it was incredible. The scenary was incredible. I felt like a kid in a candy store. AMG's being test driven all over the place. The facility was amazing and the new AMG performance studio was out of this world. I got to witness 3 DTM's being transformed, and 4 SLK55 Black editions. Besides that a few S classes being redone.... All in all an amazing experience.

First I must say, it was a nice personal touch when they had the American Flag up for ME!! They had 2 visitors that day. One from the US and one from Canada.



Here are a few pictures of an SLK that was in the lobby. The interior was incredible. I love the red stitching. I love the SL65 AMG style rims also!




Here is a picture of an CLS63 AMG. Check out the AMG style blacked out rims with chrome lip. NEver seen these before!



And of course me and the CLK DTM and GTR. Its an incredible piece of machinary!




Here are some photos of the F1 saftey cars they use. They wouldn't allow me to go into the gated parking lot to take pictures....



And last but not least some pictures of i guess a CL65 AMG or something.....





It was an incredible experience. Photos where restricted in some areas but I tried to get the most I could! Enjoy!

All I can say is that one day we WILL take delivery of an AMG in Germany so we can AUTOBAHN with it, tour with it... AUTOBAHN with it, AUTOBAHN with it. I think you get the idea.

I believe it is, actually. I was doing a trip through Europe this past summer and sent AMG an email noting that I might be in Affalterbach for a day or so. They told me that if I wanted a complete plant tour I had to try to come on one of the arranged dates but that I could drop in anytime and walk around the lounge and the unrestricted parts of the plant on my own. They were very nice and accommodating about it. Unfortunately I never got to Affalterbach, but I damn sure will someday

I had to schedule a few months in advance. They were extremely accomidating as I was on a tight schedule. I couldn't make it on regular tour hours but the great tour guide stayed beyond her working hours to accomidate my tight schedule as I was arriving mid afternoon in Frankfort and arriving in affalterbach around 4ish. They gave us a PERSONAL tour of the AMG facility. It was truely an amazing experience. As I was arriving late to my appointment the front desk lady already knew who I was. THey gave me a goodie bag also. A few AMG hats, key chains and mouse pads! Thanks AMG!

And to answer your question. No I wasn't able to drive any cars as I arrived past the working hours. They stayed to show me the facility. Most workers were gone.

Where is Affalterbach located, exactly? I will be in Germany next month for a trade show in Dusseldorf, but I am flying into Frankfurt. I'd love to check it out.

Thanks for the pictures man!! Awesome. I've already arranged my AMG factory in mid November, seeing these pictures make me even more excited. Just can't wait.

Any tips or suggestions? How did you get to the plant? I was told that if I were to take taxi that would take about an hour and gonna be like 100 euros....

Affalterbach is located near Stuggart. Rent a car with a navi and u should be all set. In Stuggart there is also the Mercedes meusem (sp?).

Dammit, if only I'd known I was that close! I was at the M-B Museum last month.
The Museum was phenomenal, but I found it odd that there was not much mention of AMG.
