Dyno- 4 Diferent E55

A Couple Of Days Ago 4 Mates Of Mine All Owning E55 Got Together And Decided To Dyno Our Cars.

To Our Amazement All 4 Cars Made 430hp @ The Wheels.

It Shows That @ Simliar Conditions Most E55 Are The Same Power Wise.

Those are healthy E55's if they are stock..... I dyno'd my E55 in the 380 range.....

all cars where stock:
the factory spec for an e55 is 360kw(507hp) @ the flywheel in south africa.
so 430hp @ the rear wheels is realistic.

I'm extremely skeptical to say the least.

Here in the US, they are rated at 469HP.

So thats why I say you have a VERY healthy beast! More power to ya brotha.... keep it real!

READ post "spec ofde63 vs e55" to see what spec we have available to us in south africa.

from what i gather the south african spec is great in power than the us spec.
is it true???

350kW=479hp, so 430rwhp means an 11% drivetrain loss, which means that something is very wrong here.

Perhaps the dyno calibrations allow it to read higher than what we are used to. What is of extreme importance is that all the cars made similar power numbers on the same dyno.

I did, that's where I got the info from.

Your post states the E55's output at 350kW, which is 479hp. Even with more realistic measurements of 500hp, it still means a 14% drivetrain loss. So unless your cars are ALL factory freaks putting out 525 crank hp, I'd really like to see some dyno sheets.

I tend to believe all 211 E55s make around 500 crank horsepower regardless of their ratings.

xtian, different dynos, locations, weather, altitudes all can make a great difference, so I wouldn't worry too much.
