ChicagoX,
I would enjoy letting you take my Turbo-Hayabusa for a ride.............you would love it, I am sure......only a few ticks of the clock from 75 to 175.........just do not let the front end get more than 6 inches off the pavement..........do not want to flip it........
Great read. You express what we all are about, IMO.
Take no prisoners.

Just FINALLY got that fixed. If it's happening at all except when racing for VERY long periods, get your intercooler pump replaced. I went three years in some of the hottest Texas summers on record and never experienced supercharger shutdown until over the past year. It got so chronic that it'd happen after ANY heavy-throttle activity. At that point I stopped living with it and took it in. They put in a new pump. The car now feels stronger than it ever has... it never felt slow but has a lot more of that "warp speed" feel at launch and even in 85 degree temps doesn't feel out of breath at higher RPM as it used to. I had NO idea how much I'd lost. Since the replacement? Nary a cutout despite extended time at quite high speeds (30-45 minutes at 120-140, I love Texas ) and then quite a bit of WOT passing to boot.

That is the best write up I have ever read. I am currently on the 996 and the E46 forum. You have just rekindled my fire for my E55.

Great write up. A week rarely goes by without fantasizing about owning a V8K wagon. I've never even driven one yet, but its just one of those things in life...
You hear about it, you read about it, and you see it. Your expectations rise, and thats often followed up by a crash back to reality when you finally get to experience it; b/c your expectations became so high that you put it on a pedestal which it could never live up to. But then sometimes you get to experience something that is everything you believed it to be. And you appreciate it b/c you're truly in the presence of something special.
I feel this way about my 540 and I'm confident that when I finally get my wagon I'll feel that way all over again.
Also a reason why cars > girls.
