Pics of my E55...

The last time I tried to post and image, the server told me my pic was too bih and I had no idea how to scale it down. Now that we have a new server and image hosting, I figured I'd try again. If this works, you will see an image of "delivery day" Gotta love it when the old "stork" drops by for a visit!

Funny Story

And here's a funny but true story. You notice the ARISTOCRAT MOTORS carrier in the street? They are the local dealership here in KC. Great folks and my SA is a pleasure to work with on upgrades and mods. Anyway, the pre-owned lot had an 05 in carbon black with about 19K miles and they were asking $68k for it. I was trading in my 01 CLK55 with 25k miles and they offered my $19k on trade for it. We haggled around and were unable to consummate the deal, but the pre-owned manager concluded our unsuccessful negotiations with some veiled comment that maybe I just wasn't really ready for that expensive a car. (Dig That!) I bought this one in Dallas the very next week. 05 8k miles, certified for $64k and sold my CLK to a private party for $28k. Here's the kicker, the transport company I used happened to be delivering cars for Aristocrat and loaded my new baby up in their trailer to deliver it to my doorstep!!

Again, NO FLAME INTENDED to Aristocrat. I LOVE my SA and his techs are fantastic and I expect to spend quite a bit with them on elective surgery over the life of the car. But a bit of advice for anyone trying to sell anything, don't EVER suggest that the prospective customer just isn't ready for a whatever it happens to be as expensive as the one you are selling... they may be able to buy 2 or 3 of them at that price and just choose not to!

Lol, that's for sure. It might be a MB dealer, but at the end of the day a car salesman is a car salesman. Your car looks great!!!

Here's the view from the rear. I agree, not many E55 owner's would ever get to see this veiw of an 850 "in the field" unless it was a CSI (essentially the ///M Motorsport version of the 8 series) with a DINAN Twin Turbo. Yes, there are a few left in captivity.

Thanks for getting back to me...that car's styling was so ahead of its time for early 90s. Enjoy the E AMG!

Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words and positive feedback! I will definitely post some newer pics soon. Since getting the car, I have done the Star Diagnostics lowering, tinted the windows, done the FULL MEAL DEAL Griot's garage orbital polish and wax and I will be installing an E63 lip later this week along with a black anodized grill. Mechanically, I did the Star fan mod with a PTE thermostat and a Kleemann pulley.

As far as the deal on the car, yeah, I think I did O.K. - BUT - of course as soon as I signed the paperwork for this car another 05 popped up here in KC for sale because the owner just got an E63. His 55 is a Stage I RennTech car and he is asking only $63. Then there's that one on the Bay with only 4k miles for $59! Oh well, there's always a "better deal" after you have committed yourself, right? Thanks again guys!

Congrats on your new ride! There will always be "better" deals that come around but yours was the best available at the time.
Don't let it bother you and enjoy your baby
