New aftermarket Xenon kits I found on Ebay made just for W211
My E55 did not come with Xenons, I found these new kits with special setup for no error messages. I bought one so I will let everyone know how it works out. $400 is alot better then spending 2K.

I say . Unless there is some hokey load resistor to simulate the full load of a 55W halogen VS the 35W of the HID bulb, you will still need to get the car coded for Xenon's by a dealer or someone with a STAR machine. It doesn't look like a bad kit, but you probably still need to get the car programmed.

I am extatic! The Xenons work great!
Took me a while to get the front bumper off but they work great and are brighter than OEM. Ill get some pics up tonight. FYI the kit I bought was Intec 6000K. Made for W211.

2005 E55, 1959 220s Cabriolet, some other stuff too...
I just wanted to chime in. It is not $2k. You can get the real MB Hella lights if you look hard for around $1100 shipped BRAND NEW. I think I paid $1050 for mine shipped. Then, clean the lights VERY WELL that you took off of your car and put them in the boxes that came with your new ones. Put them on ebay and you should be able to get $400 for the pair, assuming they are like new. I got $400 for my halogen take-offs.
This way, the NEW correct Hella OEM lights are only about $200 more than the ones you bought

MY04 w211 E500
hi i just got a set of the Mtecs for our MY04 E500.
upon first install, they triggered the error and kept blinking.
i got a replacement set of ballast, wiring them up and they work strangely enough.
opted for the 6000k kit and it's actually WHITER than my 5000k kit i have on my WRX.
impressions?
decent improvement from stock halogens however not as great as my E46 325ci which have factory fitted xenons. i find the beam still is too low despite aiming them as high as possible.
i have read there is a massive voltage spike when xenons initially fire up...more so on cold days and will fry out the fatory wiring as if the car is not fitted with factory xenons.
qn: do mercs with factory xenons have different headlight wiring harnesses OR do non-halogens have the heavy duty wiring as well?
anyone?
