Quick question re: check engine light...

Had my check engine light come on a couple times over the weekend (once Sat and again last night). Made sure that I had gotten the right gas (Sunoco 93) that the cap was properly replaced, restarted the car a few times but the light has persisted. There is nothing wrong with the car, has not gone into limp mode, no smoke, no sounds, no shimmies, nothing. Called service dept today and they suggested I WATCH it!!!! Is it me or does that sound totally crazy? I didn't spend all this money to wait and see what happens.... Needless to say I made the appointment for their 1st available loaner date.

Question is, have you guys had any experience with this? Is it safe to drive the car until then? I would really like to avoid being stranded at the side of the road in my 1500 mile brand new AMG. Maybe I'll just park it a indulge in the intoxicating driving experience of the honda accord

Check Engine light is usually emission related. It could be a number of things, mostly not damaging to the car.

Just try to get to the dealer ASAP.

Good Luck!

I would not wait for an appointment. I'd roll in AND expect a loaner ASAP.
