Hi Chappy (and all my buddies at MBWORLD)
Just thought you would like to see what I was doing when I should have been at your awesome event in Atlanta.
This was my first motor car race. I used to race motocross at a national level in South Africa way back in the ‘80s. I was on the same Blue Stratos Kawaski team with Greg Albertyn (he was 10 years younger and went on to win 3 world titles and the AMA title here in the USA).
Here are a few short videos (wmv) – they will stream but I suggest you “right click and save as”

- Race 1 – start and lap 1
- Race 2 – one of the cars shreds a slick, ruptures the fuel line and it bursts into fire – Joe Lee got to the extinguisher pretty fast but if you have ever wondered why you should buy decent safety equipment this should convince you
- Race 2 – the restart – I get a great start only to spin ½ way through the first lap
