Smell like a fish???
I am looking at buyning this CLS55 from a local dealer. Only has 12XX miles, the saleslady said it's "pre-owned" but would qualify for new car lease. They CPO the car, and dropped $9K off asking price in a drop of a hat.
I ran CARFAX and here's what it shows:
Sold at auction
in Florida
Listed as
a manufacturer vehicle at 1184 miles in Florida.
Is this a lemon buy-back car? Anyone helps??? Vahim??...

It isn't a lemon. That has stickers all over it. It could be one of many different things. Most likely sounds like a promotional car that MB uses then sells to their dealers. Could have been used at some event as a courtesy car. Something along those lines. You never said how much below sticker it is? I would think you can find a similar deal on a spanking new one. I have never been one to buy a demo or worse..

not a lemon, my CPO E55 had a similar carfax history..... dealer said it was a corporate demo for a short time....
if the car has less than 3k miles, they can use the residual values based on the retail price of the car while giving you a big discount and a much lower cap cost...
this makes a VERY good lease deal...... I did this on my C32, and was able to lease it for less than $600/month.... car had 1,400 miles on it....

Lemon law?
...Florida eh? Just make sure it was never under water - like in "flood damage" from the gulf coast floods last year...would that show up in carfax?
Q. If you buy a car with a few thousand miles on the clock, does the Lemon law apply?? Especially as its from the dealer and only registered to them previously.
It seems you have good coverage with the manufacturers and the CPO, for general issues....the only point would be is this going to be in and out of the shop (even if covered that's a complete waste of time). If so would it qualify as a lemon?
I don't know....anyone?
