Eddie said the black/red stripe CE28N's were supposed to be available pretty soon now. I'll check.

I need 19x8.5 front and 19x10 rear that will clear a 14" Brembo GT BBK up front on a W208 CLK55. If its available, I'm buying!

Those 'progressiv' are nice and I think would really suit the E55. Thing is I can get Volks/Rays a lot cheaper down here in NZ than importing from the States. I'm trying to get more info.on weight / colours etc. I went through the 2006/2007 catalogue for all Japanese made wheels with my Japanese friend and he told me that there are only 2 companies in Japan and they make ALL the wheels!! I know they have 19x8.5 with +35 available (5x112). Could someone tell me what are the correct offsets for the W211 E55 using 19x 8.5 and 19x 10. Is it 245/35/19 ET30 and 275/30/19 ET33...is that correct and ok with a lowered car? Thanks.

Hi Kiwie,

According to Volk USA, there is a 19x10.5 et22 available.
Weight is about 20lb for the 8.5 et35 front and 22lbs for the 10.5 et22 rear.

Hi Jeremy.

He has not heard of the 10.5 (you sure its 5 x 112) The ET22 surely would be way to aggressive. Do you have any pictures of an E55 with 'Progressiv' wheels in 19".

I think I'm going to go with the Volk 'Progressiv' as landed here in NZ thay are 1/2 the price of the HRE. If I was living in the States I probably would have got the HRE 597r.

Hi,

I have asked Volk if there is a less aggressive offset in the 10.5 5x112. The 22et was for BiTurbo's SL65.

Unfortunately we nor Volk have any pics of the Progressiv's on a W211 E55 but I bet it'd look great.

Happy turkey holiday all!

That looks pretty good. Looks like it belongs on the car with the OEM look.

Rays/Volk from my understanding are planning on making wheels for the euro market. They already have wheels for BMW.

And when I was looking for wheels for the CL, they had told me that in Jan/Feb they would have 20" TEs ready to order from Japan.

Hate to go off-topic, kiwie55amg, but I was wondering if you kept the stock rods and pistons on your Skyline build?
Back on topic, did you decide on the wheels?

I only did the 'Mines' camshaft and Tomei head gasket, the rest of the engine internals were left stock as it already had the N1 endurance engine (NUR) from the factory.

Leaning toward the 19" Volks as they are light and strong and I think would not look out of place on the E55 (AMG'ish look with some dish)...and 8-10 lbs lighter per corner.

After searching the forums I find it a bit strange that a lot of people say Volk/Rays are great wheels but how can you put a JDM wheel on a Merc. or Euro car...its like putting a Brabus wheel on a Lexus. My argument is couldn't you say the same thing on just about every wheel manufacturer, incl. HRE.
