Trade-In value for 2000 E55?
Anyone had experience with trading in their E55? Do these cars hold their value any better than their non-AMG brothers? I realize it depends on the dealer, and what your interested in buying from the dealer.
Im trading in a 2000 E55, obsidian black/black, 75,000 miles, int/ext are in average or fair condition, 3 years in FL, 3 years in NY. What should I expect for value?

yes, trading in would not be so good...my guess is dealers would offer $15k-ish. private party, i think they're selling for $20kish for 2000 models. the 2001-2002's "real prices" are going for $23-27k-ish depending on mileage, condition, and options.
p.s. i just bought my 2001 E55 w/ 87k miles and i am soooooo happy. i can't get the grin out of my face when i'm driving it, and i feel like a very lucky man. the car was starmarked until recently and always MB dealer service, and it was a "9.9" out of "10." i paid just under $20k.

Thanks for the replies
Thanks for the replies, I have the only w210 E55 in the surrounding area. We will see what the two dealers Im interested in will say, Ill post their response. These cars characteristically sell for a little higher than other areas because they are even more rare in upstate NY.

swap e55 for...
LR 3 i've heard not very reliable, and my good friend w/ brand new ML500 w/ the 7sp transmission broke down w/in first 3 months and had to get new transmission, not very good sign.
...perhaps this is one reason why many people like to buy the last year of a particular MB or BMW series as most/all of the kinks should have been worked out.
me...i'm soooo happy w/ the E55. of course, i'm not in snow so i can't comment on that.
good luck.

Clkfreak???
CLKFREAK what tires did you use for the winter? or did you store the CLK for 6 months a year? She is getting used to a rwd car in the winter but she is hesitant about the power of the car and the 400lbs of torque! I keep telling her it will be fine with the tranny in W mode (start in 2nd gear), Thats what its there for!

I actually got rid of my CLK before winter hit. I understand your issue but imo, selling it is a little overboard. I used blizzaks when I had my 97' trans am. I even drove it in some serious snow storms and never had a problem. I've driven many RWD cars in Denver snow and never had an issue with some good snow tires on it. I got rid of my CLK because I have 5 people in my family and our other car was a grand am. I bought a pacifica. anyway, try the blizzaks..a few people mentioned them in the other thread you started. I'm going to get a 211 E55 myself and will probably be in the same boat as you.
