some thoughts on meziere upgrade ic pump

been running with an upgraded meziere universal ic pump on my e55 for a while, car runs strong all the way even under hard driving. just want to throw it out there and recommended for people who might consider replacing their stock bosch ic pump (another option besides the johnson marine). it costs $250 with custom bracket. did not do a dyno run to really test its efficiency but will try later. (for sure it's more efficient but need to find out how much more)

here is the info on the ic pump: http://www.meziere.com/index.php?pgName=Remote, model wp136

the shape of the pump is not like the bosche and johnson marine unit, but it's really easy to have it installed with proper bracket.

Looks really good qulaity ... 20G/M is not bad ... les sthan Johnson - but more than the stock unit. The billet aluminium impeller is good feature.

Stock pump flows around 1500 l/hr with some restriction (~7 gal/min so pretty crppy).

The Johnson is a up to 26gal/min when unrestricted. When restricted as it is this is probably around 15gal/min. At 0.2 bar the Johnson has 20.7g/min and the bosch around 6g/min

This one is 20gal/in so still around 3 x better than the stock pump.

The radiator mounted 161 version is interesting too ... does weight 6lb though.

yea...this unit is a solid piece, and works just great even the flow rate is less than the johnson pump. i assume it's cheaper than the johnson marine too?

The pump looks good. What size fittings should be ordered?

WOW!

I wasn't aware of their MB applications, but I've used their products on domestics for years with great results.

yea...i've been talking about the ic pump issue with a mb master technitian who now owns a tuning shop in my area and this is what he recommended for using. i assume the johnson marine pump was kinda of an over use for the cars without heavy extensive mods
