Think I Figured Somthing Out.....AIRMATIC

Wsup....So I know the car lowers at higher speeds, but to tends to come back up when you park it shortly after. I was trying to figure out how We can make the car stay down after you park it....So I pushed down on my E-brake and it stayed...it might sound stupid, and maybe just my imagination, but will other people try this and see if im right??? Or does anybody know how to keep the car down...some times even when im driving in the streets and not at high speeds and I park the car goes up?? is there anyway to stop it from going up??? Some1 told me if you leave in on comfort mode, itll let air out and go low when you park it, some1 also told me that if you put the car in SPORT(2) the back comes up a little bit...I dont really know thats why im throwing this thread up...any feeed back....any1 have any ideas...lets hear it...im intrested in figuring this airmatic thing out...

I just took delivery of a cls 63, which has the same Airmatic System. According to the manual, if the launch setting is on "C" (for comfort), after the engine is turned off, the car does drop. Apparently that can be over ridden by using the raising switch, I believe. I will ask Steve MB when he is here next week

It appears to me that ine remains in the last position it was in when it is shut off. If it was up, it stays up, and if it was down it stays down.

mine lowers when I turn it off and its on comfort mode. you can hear it release the air and watch it go down about an inch or something. My moms 1990 lincoln had this automatic leveling feature, reminded me of that, the only way I noticed it or knew what it was =) I'm new to the game though

I'm a little confused on what your asking, so please explain a bit. The car does indeed drop a bit when you shut it down. That is simply to not stress the valves that hold the pressure. The car will lift back up when you hit the button to unlock the car and goes to ride level when the car is cranked. The pressure tank is only maintained while the car is on. It does not waste battery to keep the pressure up in the tank when the car is off.
Hope any of this helps.

My 06'E55 when it is shutdown it drops quite a bit. I usually get about 2 fingers width or less between the tire and fender. The tech that mounted my snow tires at Dunn Tires thought I lowered my car. This occurs in Sport 1 and 2 setting. Tomorrow I will try the Comfort setting because it is snowing out right now.
