ECU Torque/Load Limiter Problem...

ECU Torque/Load Limiter Problem...

I'm interested in buying a 2005 or 2006 E55 with the intent to mod, but this ECU Reflash problem is worrying me a lot. I have a few questions for those of you who suffered through this ordeal (or those of you who knows a great deal about it)...

1) Is it certain that the problem is from the ECU re-flash?

2) If it is a limiter hidden somewhere in the ECU, can the limiter itself be modified or pushed to a higher limit?

3) Is there any remedy or "cure" for this problem?

4) Can it be undone? If so, how and how much does it cost?

I just purchased a 05 E55 wagon, then took it to the dealer for the reflash,then had the car dynoed. I did not notice any difference in power between the before and after re-flash and the post re-flash dyno showed the car producing good power. See thread "Any other wagons out there." I hope this helped.

The problem tends to be more with 03s and 04s. I lost 70 hp but Kleemann thinks they solved the problem. They reflashed my ECU and I will have it dynoed in about 2 weeks to see where I'm at.

Well in my '06 with ASP pulley the thing is a freight train ... ECU is stock - for now.

My friend had the recall done on his '04 SL this week and its still flies with ASP pulley in situ...

How about effects on modded cars?

I know there is almost NO EFFECT on the car post ECU recall if the car is STOCK. But what I meant to ask is if anybody with modded cars (Kleemann stage 1/2/3/4, RennTech stage 1/2/3/4, etc..) experienced a loss of power due to the torque limiter that was (aparently) added to the ECU after the re-call? And is there any solution for this problem?
