I have the car with me on business, and when I was checking into the hotel last night I noticed a ping-pong ball sized "ding" in the lower grille. I think I can massage most of it out, but it'll still bother me.

Out of curiousity, does anybody know the cost for a replacement grille? Are they a PITA to swap out (i.e. does it require something silly, like removing the front bumper cover?).

The mesh is just held in with cheapo metal clips...look in there and you can pop the mesh right out and it is flimsy mesh so you can get it nearly perfect again just using your fingers.

Make sure you pop the grille out of the clips one at a time otherwise you could break them. The lower grilles are not cheap to replace so your best bet is to pop it back out.

Don't replace, reshape. When a raccoon dented mine the body shop reshaped better than new.

Yeah...I was looking at it this morning in the parking lot. I'm going to use a piece of hooked coat hanger and pull it back into shape myself. There's a very small gouge in the paint that I'll spot in with some touch up paint.

What do thse cost anyway?

The body shop quoted $150. You really should take it out and form it on a surface. The coat hanger will just distort it in another direction. Ask your dealer where they send their cars for work and then ask that shop how they would do it.

It think the Barolo Red is the same color as a female racoon's back side and is causing the males to attempt a high speed mount.
