how many tons needed in a floor jack?
Hi Everyone,
I was looking into getting a floor jack to install winter tires, but how many tons do I need?
I'll be jacking each corner and doing each wheel individually.
Given the E63 is ~4100 lbs, will a 2-ton jack suffice?
Other than weight-reduction and looks, are the aluminum floor jacks better than a regular (ie. $30 Craftsman)?
Also, what details and brands should I be looking for?

A 2 ton jack is sufficient, since you are only lifting one side of the car. I like this one for two reasons, it has a rubber pad and a handle with a machined non-slip knurled area. Tools can be addictive, once you buy one you can never stop.
